Setting of the Moon of the Hashemites (a)

A short backside story of the painting is His name was Abbaas which means a Brave Lion. And so valourous, wise, loyal, and handsome did Abbas grow that till this day, in addition to earning immortal fame as Qamar-e-Bani Hashim or Moon of the Hashemite Clan, he is known as the Epitome of Fealty and Fidelity, for standing firm and steadfast beside his elder brother Husaen (a), even if it cost him the loss of both his hands, an arrow in the eye, a blow of the mace on the head, and eventually his life. The loss of limbs and life, however, did not pain the lion, but what broke his heart was the arrow that pierced the goatskin water-carrier and spilled the water he had fetched from the River Euphrates after a gallant fight with the dastardly enemy, for the thirsty children and women in the camp of his brother.
